Philomena Harmsworth
Scraped paint, charcoal and neon - emotional portraits of the land personified: an allegory with many strata of meaning.
Contemplating pathways between ancient and contemporary themes. Laying back on living soil (the newest sedimentary layer forming of deep-time) and dreaming of what’s beyond the blue - puzzling rainbows and transience.
Some of the art I make is to encapsulate an exact idea, others hold longer narratives. Cross referencing senses and bridging borders between the different Arts in my practice means the outcomes manifest as: a joyous celebration of amassed treasures into collections as lightboxes of curiosity. The collages are real or virtual in film, silent or not. Uckfield, E. Sussex
