Tim Chesters
Originally an engineer, I have spent most of my working life in teaching.
I have been a maker through my whole life,
at various times working individually and collaboratively in the areas of jewellery, sculpture and printmaking.
Underlying all that I do is the idea that I work with the materials; allowing them to show their beauty and character with me being part of the process of change.
In recent years I have focused on working with wood, predominantly discarded and found. In wood, I see time and life recorded and the reflection of the larger environment in the material. Croydon, London
