Freelands Foundation used this research to underpin their new Artist Programme. But it will be useful to many who work with recent graduates, as it provides sharp insight into the environment and conditions inhabited by recent graduates. Report shows that despite the first few years after graduating being a critical time for artists, support is often at its lowest. Financial pressure, along with competition, rising costs, and precarious conditions make it a difficult period. It concludes that: “Time, space and money are the three most precious resources for visual arts practitioners, but these are often in short supply.”
