Gives an overview of the UK City of Culture initiative, which is set to take on more significance since, post-Brexit, the UK is unable to bid for the title of European Capital of Culture 2023. Interesting for its reflection on the “soft power assets” of Coventry and other individual cities and the trend towards deployment of these on the international stage, bypassing the nation state.
