A response to the recent Debate pieces: Weakening the Foundations and Why are Artists Poor?
My art practice is founded on a fascination with nature and people, and the way they interact. I create events, all kinds of things from traditional exhibitions of paintings to avant-garde collaborative ritualised performances, but whatever I do I aim to bring people together, engage them, move them, inform them, involve them, challenge them. For 40 years I've sat uncomfortably somewhere between conceptualism, modernism, theatre, shamanism, family and the day-job, and I hope to continue rattling around these motifs for another 40.
