Written by Artangel’s James Lingwood and Henry Moore Foundation director Godfrey Worsdale, the just published ACE-commissioned report followed last June’s ACE NPO announcement which saw Bristol’s Arnolfini and Situations lose their funding.
A group of artists in Bristol has coordinated a united front in the face of an Arts Council England visual arts review in which they feel they weren’t offered an equal seat at the table. They outline their intervention in a recent public consultation event while proposing a new approach for the city’s art ecology.
Bristol visual arts organisations Arnolfini and Situations have not been included in Arts Council England’s National Portfolio 2018-22, with ACE saying that £3.34 million has been ring fenced for the visual arts in the city.
The founder and director of Bristol-based public art producer Situations has been appointed director of Arnolfini gallery.
