Cornwall based gallery, which has recently reopened following a £20 million refurbishment and extension, wins world’s largest museum prize, worth £100,000.
A collaboration between the Henry Moore Institute, Leeds Art Gallery, the Hepworth Wakefield and Yorkshire Sculpture Park has received investment from Arts Council England’s Ambition for Excellence programme.
£100,000 prize presented at ceremony in the Great Court at the British Museum, London, with each of the four other finalists receiving a £10,000 prize in recognition of their achievements.
This year’s £100,000 Art Fund Prize for Museum of the Year has been awarded to London’s Victoria and Albert Museum.
